Preservation of Biodiversity

In the GAT management regime of Widmer Fields, the biodiversity of this area will be preserved. The fields are in the Chiltern Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and, although this classification is primarily about landscape value, biodiversity is very much part and parcel this classification.

The management of Widmer Fields is to the long term benefit of future generations - the provision of an educational resource. As the World’s population increases and the natural resources are at risk, the schoolchildren of today as well as future generations need to have an understanding of the natural world around them – what better than to be able to study the flora and fauna within walking distance of their own school!
