Dog walking
With about 40 acres (16 hectare) in which to run off lead in a safe environment, Widmer Fields are without doubt doggy (and cat?) heaven!
Please help us to keep Widmer Fields a safe, healthy and enjoyable place for you, your dog, children and the wildlife.
Please help us to keep Widmer Fields a safe, healthy and enjoyable place for you, your dog, children and the wildlife.
- Please keep your dog in sight and under control at all times.
- Respect requests to keep your dog on the path or away from some areas, e.g. when maintenance work is taking place, and to protect young birds and wildlife at vulnerable times.
- Please worm your dog regularly and keep vaccinations up-to-date.
- Do check your dog for ticks. There have been instances when ticks can be tranferred from wildlife. Ticks are present betwen late spring and autumn, and particularly in summer when it may be warm and damp.
- Please pick up after your dog. If your dog fouls on the designated paths or mowed areas, please pick up. Never leave poo where people walk, play or picnic. Bag it and put it in one of the bins or take it home to dispose of it.
Professional dog walkers - PLEASE - ONLY THREE DOGS UNDER CONTROL AT ANY ONE TIME
Those who use the fields for professional purposes are requested to ensure that the area is kept clear of dog mess. Failure to comply will result in a request not to use the fields. Widmer Fields is owned by a Charity and supported by donations. It would be appreciated if professional dog walkers could make a regular donation to the charity (GAT) which maintains the fields.
